Finance: Very good. History: Nathan was the result of an affair between Colonel Robert Rose and Marnie Garner, but Nathan wasn't aware of this until recently. At the time she got pregnant, Marnie was dating Patrick Romaneschi and when she discovered she was pregnant, her boyfriend "did the right thing" and they got married. Despite that, they were and are very happy. Nathan grew up in your typical upper middle class neighborhood, but was always a bit of a geek. He was crazy about science fiction and fantasy. It was Patrick that showed him the connection between most of those books and our own world history. Those connections sparked another passion in Nathan. He graduated with his BS in History and while working on his Master's realized that the lack of places for him to go and game was a pain in the ass. With his parents help, Nathan opened a small gaming shop and hit an unexpected niche market. With five shops in the Tampa area and four more in Miami, Nathan does quite well for himself. He attended conventions and cons on a regular basis and it was at one of these that he met Danny Mott. He instantly liked her and the two maintained a very loose online romantic relationship where Nathan often flew up to visit Danny for long weekend. He is the father of her child, although he doesn’t know that yet. Three years ago, a political scandal hit Nathan like a slap in the face and after railing at his family and friends about the corruption of the government, Nathan was talked into running for office. He never expected to win, it was really just to prove a point. A year into his campaign, his mother told him the truth about his biological father because she didn't want it to blindside him. As it was, the name of his biological father never came out. With a seat in the state legislature, Nathan finds he has less time, but that he feels like he really can make a difference. With life settling down, Nathan is giving serious thought to contacting his half brother, Robin.
